Any time I can get a leadoff hitter against Matt Harvey at only 5.5 fantasy points, and I’m likely to take the over. Add in that Shin-Soo Choo is significantly better against right-handed pitching, and it’s a perfect storm. He enters this game with 0.093 wOBA and 0.118 ISO differentials against righties. He also owns a 50% hard-hit rate over his last five games, although his groundball rate sits at 58% over that span. The Texas Rangers have struggled away from home at times this season, but Choo is in an elite spot against one of the weaker starting pitchers in the MLB.
I’ll stick with this game and take the over on Andrelton Simmons, who is expected to bat cleanup in the Los Angeles Angels lineup. He has been a bit more consistent against right-handed pitching, and he gets a great matchup against Edinson Volquez tonight. The Angels have a strong front end of their offense, meaning Simmons could see RBI opportunities or even potential runs. His total is set just a bit low for his talent, especially in a plus matchup tonight.
Play $25 on Shin-Soo Choo OVER 5.5 fantasy points and Andrelton Simmons OVER 5.5 fantasy points to win $62.50 (2.5x)
