Andrew Benintendi appropriately has one of the highest totals on the slate, but I’m still willing to take the over. The entire Boston Red Sox offense has struggled early this season, but Benintendi has been heating up recently. He’s averaging 10.4 fantasy points per game over his last eight games, while scoring double-digit fantasy points in three of his last four contests. He also owns 39% hard-hit and 47% fly ball rates with a 93 mph exit velocity over the last 15 days. Benintendi gets a plus matchup against Tyson Ross, and he enters this game with 0.067 wOBA and 0.042 ISO differentials against right-handed pitching. I expect Boston to feature one of the best offenses on the slate tonight, and Benintendi will be a massive part of that, as he’s leading off.
Jonathan Villar is another batter, who is leading off for his offense. He has performed well through 25 games this season, posting a .284 average with a .441 slugging percentage and a .795 OPS. He has also flashed a combination of speed (six steals) and power (nine extra-base hits). Villar gets an elite matchup against Ervin Santana, who has struggled to contain his opponents power this season. Similarly to Boston, I expect the Baltimore Orioles to find plenty of success tonight, and Villar has been a crucial part of their offense. He has multiple ways to score fantasy points, making his over that much more likely in this particular matchup.
