Slate Thoughts:

  • There are a number of pitchers that are cash viable tonight and it depends on what you want to do with your bats. Clayton Kershaw is the SP1 option, as he’s a -295 favorite in his game. You don’t have to spend up here, though. Patrick Sandoval gets the Bill Miller bump against a weak offense in Texas. Chris Paddack also gets a great matchup at home. David Peterson is outlined as a GPP play, as I believe he’s the worst option of the trio above, but he can also be used in cash in a plus matchup if you feel confident in the rookie.
  • There aren’t many options I’m looking at outside of these four. I would expect Kershaw and Paddack to feature the most upside, making Peterson and Sandoval the better tournament options if you want to avoid ownership. Mix and match these four in tournaments, though, as I believe they are significantly better than any of the other options available tonight.
  • The Los Angeles Dodgers are likely the chalk stack on this slate. The right-handed bats of the Minnesota Twins will also get ownership, and Nelson Cruz is a near must-start in cash games. I expect the Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays to have a few players that garner some ownership tonight, as well. The three clear cash options on this slate include Cruz, Mike Trout, and Cavan Biggio.
  • The New York Mets feature a great implied run total and could be going overlooked tonight. Either side of the Colorado Rockies and Seattle Mariners also make great options tonight. They are facing two pitchers that aren’t MLB-caliber, allowing the bats to take over, even in a pitcher-friendly stadium. The final stack I’m looking at is the San Diego Padres. They get a great matchup against a pitcher that struggles on the road, and they come with tremendous upside.
