Total Base Race – Los Angeles Dodgers/Colorado Rockies
This exact play hit easily last night, and I’m going back to the well here. The Los Angeles Dodgers get a great matchup against Antonio Senzatela, who has struggled with a 5.01 xFIP and a 5.51 SIERA through 14 starts. He has held his opponents to a 24.6% fly ball rate, although he has allowed a 17.5% HR/FB rate, as well. Furthermore, Senzatela has given up a 38.2% hard hit rate in 2019, while recording only an 18.3% soft hit rate. He has been at his worst against left-handed batters, allowing them to hit for a .336 average with a .531 slugging percentage and a .402 wOBA. He has also allowed his opponents to post a .299/.470/.347 line against him at home. Joc Pederson hasn’t been overly dominant recently, but he owns a .243 average with a .432 slugging percentage and a .696 OPS over his last 10 games. He boasts three extra-base hits (two home runs) in those games. He has also posted 36% hard hit and 47% fly ball rates with a 91 MPH exit velocity over the last 15 days. Pederson enters this game with 0.124 wOBA and 0.167 ISO differentials against right-handed pitching. Cody Bellinger is another player that dominates righties, posting 0.083 wOBA and 0.094 ISO differentials against right-handed pitching. He also owns elite peripherals over the last 15 days, as he enters this game with 57% hard hit and 40% fly ball rates with a 98 MPH exit velocity over that span. Bellinger has also recorded a .364 average with a .848 slugging percentage and a 1.323 OPS over his last 10 games. He has posted eight extra-base hits (four home runs) in those contests. Max Muncy is the final piece of this play, and he boasts a .294 average with a .618 slugging percentage and a 1.046 OPS over his last 10 games. He owns five extra-base hits (three home runs) in those games. Muncy has also posted 38% hard hit and 26% fly ball rates with a 95 MPH exit velocity over the last 15 days. He brings 0.025 wOBA and 0.049 ISO differentials against right-handed pitching into this game, as well. As we saw yesterday, the Dodgers power is enhanced in Coors, and that will be the case again tonight. On top of that, the weather is perfect for hitting, and there’s very little reason to believe they won’t find elite success again.
