Anibal Sanchez’s K% is down to only 14.9% this season, but it sits at 21.0% in his career, and I’m expecting him to see positive regression as the season continues. He gets an elite matchup against the Miami Marlins, who rank second on the slate in strikeouts per at-bat. He threw seven innings in his last game, and I’m expecting him to be able to throw deep into this game, as well. Between the matchup and positive regression, the over looks appealing for Sanchez. The Washington Nationals rank in the top-six of the slate in strikeouts per at-bat, and Smith is a pitcher that has seen plenty of strikeout success this season. He has posted an elite 32.3% strikeout rate, while also recording a 14.3% swinging strike percentage. Smith has posted over six strikeouts in each of his three starts this season, and I expect that to be the case again tonight.
