Over Under 2/2 – Philadelphia Phillies/Colorado Rockies
This is a bit of an odd spot. The Colorado Rockies rank third on the slate in strikeouts per at-bat, but I believe they’ll find success against Zach Eflin before he can throw deep into this game. If he’ only throws four or fewer innings, he’s unlikely to record six strikeouts. For what it’s worth, if you believe he’ll throw deep into this game, he has a very real chance at hitting the over. Elfin owns a career 5.81 ERA on the road, and there’s little reason to believe he’ll find success in a tough matchup in Coors tonight. Kyle Freeland has proven that he can find success in a hitter friendly stadium, as he posted a 2.40 ERA through 93.2 home innings last season. He also recorded a 22.3% K% at home, which is up from his 19% on the road. Tonight, he gets a matchup against the Philadelphia Phillies, who own a powerful offense, but lead the slate in strikeouts. Freeland could find the over in only five innings, and I favor the Rockies in this spot.
